Greetin's. I'm not sure if I ever RPed with you, but if Eltanim is happy to see you on here you must be good!

Re: An RPP system with increased granularity

I've only seen freeform MUSHes like that. Or maybe things like Multiverse Crisis which is impossible to balance (and might be freeform? I've never played it).

Re: An RPP system with increased granularity

Wasn't there some sort of Nomination command on ARPI, a while back? I believe this should be kept; and if it's not there, implimented. A form of player review is always good; but that doesn't mean this should be a sole determination. If someone is constantly being nominated by the same person subseq...

Re: Grit

I agree that it would also be too gritty for me. The only way I'd want to play in such a game would be if we were allowed to blow the "canon" to smithereens temporarily and overthrow the Master.

EDIT: Dangit, now I have The Sound of Drums stuck in my head.

Item Availability.

I decided to bring a few thoughts from the RPP thread over here. It didn't quite seem to fit in the Armoury thread, either, even though it's a similar topic. This is about item availability, and my 2cc. * Top-Tier goods should only be available through crafting - No apping in special with them. They...

Re: Desolation of Smaug

Of course. :D But would people be so offended of the idea if it weren't for "Ew, the dwarf's a male and the elf's a female. Therefore they might have sex"? Which... I think we can all agree there's nothing but the extremely slimmest chance of that happening, even in the movie.

Re: An RPP system with increased granularity

I actually like Throttle's idea for this, even though one would hope that most people would understand where their limits lie. If life has taught me anything, though - people need to learn more about limits and self-reflection. That said, while I don't have much to add to this conversation, people a...

Re: Desolation of Smaug

In response to the "off-putting interspecies romance", a word from my significant other:

"Elves get around with everyone else. Other elves, Men, Maiar at least. Why not dwarves?"

And a word from a friend:

"Legolas and Gimli. The original elf-dwarf gay romance."

Re: Dwarves & Elves

I know Elendor's handling of elves was that an adult was around 100 years old - but that was still a really young elf. Also, I know that the truly powerful elves were high cost. I assume you're referencing Traveller/Arandir, who was a Noldo that was born right before the Noldorin Elves left Valinor....

Re: Playable Wargs - Opinions/Thoughts

Don't believe Gandalf ever spoke to moths outside of the movies, did he? But that was what made me think of the thrush. I wouldn't really go in for playable songbirds (as much as I like birds); because it doesn't make sense. In favor of wargs being sapient, I'll point out the scene in the actual Hob...

Playable Wargs - Opinions/Thoughts

This was brought up to me as an expectation. I think that it needs more than my input. I'm not presently willing to research the lore and pick it apart, as I just returned from overseas and want time off before I return to classes. So, I present to you the information I'd laid out, rather quickly. P...

Re: Orc Play!

I thought I'd wander over here and put in my 2cc. I kind of skimmed the last few bits because I wanted to churn out a few ideas. * Activities for Orcs - Pit Fights - Also a place to settle disputes, and make a show of it to other Orcs so everyone sees you're one of the baddest in the tribe. Re: Desolation of Smaug

For the most part the changes didn't bother me (which might surprise many people who know me!), as I didn't go in expecting a perfect adaptation. And I agree with Icristhus that it's better to adopt a mindset of "modern action movie take on The Hobbit. And, as far as the sub-plots, this commentary i...
