Re: Are we in Alpha?

So has anyone watched hell on wheels? The problem with a bunch of roughnecks out in lawless territory is that they need to be kept busy lest they return to their wicked ways. I get into more trouble because I have hit the wall of progression and turn prankster out of boredom. Idle hands are the devi...

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

long-anticipated character development scenes Is it just me, or does that sound like date night? I mean, no offense if it is.. but if character X is so scare in the game world, is it any wonder that staff would try to include them in the bigger plots as well when the opportunity presents itself? Yo...

Of course I am going to comment on the 'yet', especially given how you say 'all that shall be, already is'.
It's a temporal paradox...

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

According to the quote, it falls on men and elves to finish creation.
Ergo, its not finished yet, regardless of if Illuvatar is outside of time.

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

Finally Illuvatar halted the music and a final music which was only his own ended the creation, and this final music was the creation of Elves and Men , the children of Illuvatar. It would fall to them to complete creation, and their destinies are unknown to any of the Valar or Maiar. Seems to cont...

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

Now you are saying that mankind is alien to middle earth?

Which deity has more power, Illuvatar, Aule or Morgoth? Explain.

If elves and humans and the Maiar can interbreed, doesn't that imply that they are biologically all the same species?

Shouldn't there be some half-orc rape babies around?

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

Sounds like you are equating magic to science, more or less. Superior crafting ability is all about the technological advances. The material has to be a good conductor for the magic to take hold. Man, in his stumbling intellect, has to give it some religious bent to make sense of it all. Perhaps tha...

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

I think the issue with magic is... why do things the mundane way after you get it? The haves and the have nots. The nots should outnumber the haves, but that leads to cries of favoritism. When the haves outnumber the nots, there is little reason to have any nots anymore. If everyone haves, then it t...

Re: Archery Code

A trained bowman can get off ten aimed shots in under a minute. A crossbow man can get two (winch, goat's foot) to six (manual pull) shots in the same time. Time in Middle Earth moves at an accelerated pace. If anything rate of fire is too slow. Cross bows are also much easier to use. Aka bonuses t...

Re: Trust

Aren't all orcs actually elves? Corrupted elves... But elves none the less. They are, but in their corruption they lost a great deal of the gifts that the elves had. The orcs were designed to be wholly subservient to a higher power, with little will beyond self preservation other than that. They we...

Re: Trust

Yes, a group of six nameless orcs would run from an elf. I'd like to think the orcs that have built a name for themselves are far more powerful. Not to mention the only elf they ran from was Legolas, an elven prince. Not exactly a fair comparison. I don't mean this in a mean way, J, but I don't con...

I have to agree that this poll will not be productive.
At the same time, I can find no reason to condemn someone for speaking out.
Even vitriol serves a purpose.

You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.
