This is something I have occasionally wished for, in previous versions of SOI. For dreaming!

I think a lot of other requests would take priority over this, though.

Re: Maps: Relative Location of Locations

Two small suggestions:
1. In the version showing the orc territories, there is a scale, but please indicate the units (miles?) for the scale.
2. Similarly, please add a scale for the wider-area map.

Otherwise, what can I say but echo what so many have said already: the maps are looking excellent.

Re: Calling for Wiki Help

I am very happy to see the wiki taking shape! It will be so much easier to find information in a well-organized wiki than in the posts scattered through the Forums. Thanks to Tiamat, Bombur, WildGiller, and anyone else who have been contributing to this.

Re: Roles for Alpha

these are the two roles that will be available to start things off with Does that mean we cannot invent or propose additional roles at the start? I had the impression from the first post of this thread that a wider range of professions would be available: http://www.laketownrpi.us/forums/viewtopic....

Re: Musical Instruments

I did a buttload of research on the matter when I played Herb, so I am going to act in my usual fashion and respond to the thread with little regard to what has been posted prior. Tolkien wrote remarkably little on the state of music in Middle-Earth. What scholars have to work with are implications...

Re: New Palantir is Live! Discuss!

I like this: The way you assign levels of attributes (Strength, Agility, Dexterity, Constitution, Willpower, Intelligence, Presence) allows you to control these much more than in the past. Instead of ordering them from top to bottom, you'll be able to assign how important each one is to you on a sca...

Re: SoI 2014 Player Overview

... I have played at least 20 characters since 2006 so I'm more than likely going to forget multiple characters and players, but I'll give it a shot: Longest lived characters: Seiir, Arminius, Sydenham, Spivey, and Hoar . ... I vividly remember a scene where Master Hoar objected to a vase at the op...

Re: Fantasy Book Recommendations!

I highly recommend "Sheepfarmer's Daughter" by Elizabeth Moon. I finished reading it two weeks ago. It is the first in a trilogy called "The Deed of Paksennarion." Young Paks runs away from home to avoid being married to the neighboring pig farmer's son -- or any man -- and becomes a soldier in the ...

Re: Updates

Yes, don't give in to the temptation to release before things are in a highly playable state. I mean, we've been waiting this long, nobody is going to be thrown off by waiting a few more weeks/months. I think it's way more important to open with something that will wow and impress the RPI starved c...

I enjoyed Downton Abbey the first 2 or was it 3 seasons? But was not in the mood to watch the latest season due to family events.

Haven't seen Breaking Bad.

Re: Resquest from an exploration addict.

Fall rooms are colored Red. To prevent errors, they also prompt you "are you sure? Type !" just in case. Climb rooms are a bit nefarious. That is very good! Sometimes players don't have colors turned on or working right, and sometimes we get confused in other ways. Usually, I don't like my computer...

Hey, welcome back, Nyneve! My characters never met Reodyn, but didn't you also have a soldier character briefly in Sornion Tir in Angrenost? Too painful to remember?

From Angrenost to Laketown and ARPI: how did we get here?

Hello! I've been away from SOI since around March or June 2013, and when I came back, I noticed some changes: (1) We're no longer in Angrenost, and we're on the way to Laketown but not there yet. (2) We abandoned the SOI RPI game engine in favor of something called ARPI (Atonement RPI, I guess). (3)...
