Re: Current Races

Humans are available at a whopping price of 0 RPP, with some variance in rolls. It takes essentially little prior knowledge of the race itself in order to adequately portray, but some knowledge of Tolkien lore is necessary to really take advantage of any of the roles. Takes more patience to play tha...

Re: Losing interest

I'd posit that humans vs orcs is bad for the game, and the sooner SoI gets away from it, the better.

Functionally the same result, kind of...only with the human sphere consolidated into the orc one.

(If it wasn't obvious, I am being sarcastic.)

Re: Losing interest

edited by Icarus: This argument is a special butterfly and I respect other players expressing other opinions that I may personally disagree with. Respect, it's what you do.

ETA:

This argument is fallacious and the former edit doesn't express adequately how patently silly and uninsightful it is.

Re: Losing interest

Personally I don't have a problem with that arrangement, that doesn't mean it isn't an idiotic idea, in all but one aspect. In exposed terrain, such as the kind outside the gates of Utterby directly, where sunlight can be found, it works exactly as intended with no hangups or problems to be seen. Th...

Re: Losing interest

Basically, I could make another pithy set of remarks, but I do that often enough that you can just assume there's one right here. Please take a moment to chuckle or frown, respectively. Now then, I basically align myself with Oblivion on this "discussion", in that I don't think changes are necessary...

Have I ever told any of you the definition of insanity?

It's doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting a different result.

Re: Embarrassing

Other than returning to the distinction between "weak orc" ie "goblin" and "strong orc" ie "uruk", and putting an RPP price on the latter, I don't think there should be an 'entry fee' to get into this sphere in some capacity. And even then, I don't think it's really necessary.

That's... a dumb idea.

Re: Embarrassing

Unless they're truly a newbie with no clue how things work around here, there's not a thing wrong going on here. Sure, be a bit more lenient/even-handed when it comes to their treatment. They don't know better. But... Jesus, I've seen less whining about things of actual consequence, but intentionall...

Re: Orc and Warg Pecking Orders

I think the requirements for having to have X amount of larger wounds should be removed too. I want to be able to beat someone to death with my hands. I don't really think this should be removed. It's more convenient than inconvenient. Also it isn't really "X amount until death", so much as, if a p...

Re: Orc and Warg Pecking Orders

That's kind of a good thing, honestly. Otherwise character death would be even harder/more uncommon. In a situation like this...if you don't want to risk dying, give up sooner. Three stars is a situation at which you can die. If you're (that) afraid of death, you give up around then. I agree with K...

I feel like I will continue to defend my point of view when it comes to what goes on in the backend, because ultimately it will effect how much I enjoy the game, how I'm motivated into action in certain regards, and my ability to respond to others. If I feel like certain decisions staff makes will l...

Re: Bored

Man, at this point, I'm taking things step by step. First I'd like to inspire people as to taking their play seriously, and so far with the people I've interacted with, taking your own time logged in seriously seems to work really well. People put just a smidgen more effort into their roleplay, far ...

5. Add 0 RPP humans (not necessarily slaves, just bad humans) to the badguy side. - Yeeeeeeeeeaaaah! And then change around the layout so that humans and wargs and orcs all are forced into the same social hub! Woo! (Not sarcasm. Completely serious.) Re: Bored

More so than just danger, as with Atonement ALPHA, I want danger steeped in lore, and plot and story, with lots of characters--lots of PCs that is, coming together and piecing it together with their own respective parts. I want to be able to go out, and interact with the gameworld, as with Atonement...

Re: Kirking it Up: The Red Shirt Syndrome

People need to slow down and incorporate more of their character into their play and less of their play into their character.
