Let's play Bloodsword?

Hey, just throwing some feelers to see if there'd be people interested in playing through these books I recently found. It's the first two of a series of gamebooks in the style of Choose Your Own Adventure with dice for combat and tactical maps. Up to 4 characters can play in the same party, to be c...

Re: RPA presence, pbase activity

I consider myself an overly polite person, moreso on the internet, and from the very first post I had to hit delete more than a few times to keep in that line. It must be the memories of what SoI can be and what it has not been for way too long that's doing the talking. Frigga, you act as a handbrak...

Yes. Agreed. Yet exactly what's not happening.
MrT2G wrote: ***All the example situations that you described***
These are summarized as simply DMing. In other words, RPAing.

While I agree with your approach, BladeRunner... yes:
Player activity is directly proportional to RPA presence. Period.

Re: RPA presence, pbase activity

Active Staff helps, but ultimately I believe it is up to the players to push activity through their characters own desires, aspirations, and goals. True. Surely we can agree, though, that there are points where admin intervention is necessarily required, which is what this is about? what I was atte...

RPA presence, pbase activity

Hello! Many of you have noticed the game has reached a status quo where nothing is what happens pretty much every week. There is a barrier between players and staff - not one of communication, because we have Discord, but rather one hindering the flow of ideas. It is extremely hard to get support fo...

Re: Crafts and Hiding

I'll have to agree with Faroukel there. I would trade the noisy crafts for safe areas representing vnpc activity keeping them clear.

Re: Travel/Camp Objects

I like the idea. For stragglers like me it would solve many problems. Making it notake would probably be a must, too. Sort of a minibase, more mobile and 'use and throw away' than forts (which are not operational at the moment, anyway)

Re: Crafts and Hiding

most hunting crafts call for silence, so agreed with Freon. Except the pheasant one, which explicitly states you are making a racket.

Long as it is done in a craft by craft basis, and it is stated in the 'materials' description, I wouldn't mind.

Join the Easterlings

The horde woke long ago. It brought ruin to the Dorwinion. Its first tendrils reached the Vadok Mal. We, the valiant from the tribes who went forward, have been dormant, we have been out of sight... yet deep within the Mirkwood a darkened heart, akin to a drum, has kept beating and beckoning us. Onc...

As agreed I have written up an additional tribe you all can find attached. Feel free to bash and give new ideas. I personally am not sold the name yet. A txt file is not allowed, so I'm putting it as a pdf.

Re: You folks with fancy words

I tend to do long emotes. Actually, I -love- the whole mixing of conversation and emotes with quoting. It's just..just..great. I still haven't used a say or tell with this character (which makes me wonder why I bothered with the voice command in the first place). I know it sounds silly, but if the r...

Re: You folks with fancy words

When i first started nearly a decade ago people thought English was my second language, it is not. =/ Glad to know I'm not the only one! Some of the expressive emotes I see while (I'm repeatedly nodding and smiling IG like a robot) just make me want to log out of the game in shame. lol. That...

You folks with fancy words

This thought has crossed my mind a few times, so I thought I'd drop a post to tell you about it - I love it when I stumble on people ig who inadvertently teach me fancy words, or those rare expressions which help so much in setting an immersive mood and which I'd never have guessed even existed on m...

Re: Learning in the Arena

I've tried it a few times, training "Sword" for which I -think- I have the skill Long-Blade (since someone taught it to my character) but it doesn't even appear in the list of skills. All I've always got is something along the lines of "You are tired after the training." but nothing else. Not sure h...
