Re: Bog Iron/Resource Progression

Afaik, the only difference between bog iron and refined iron is weight. Economically speaking, there is very little reason to make refined iron.

I know that this isn't on topic, at all. Just something I wanted to point out.

Re: Opening General Discussion

What are staff's thoughts on an official SoI Discord server? There are already RPI servers out there that it will be discussed on. Might as well have an official one that can be moderated.

Re: Real Life Fishing - No Timers Required

Oh, yeah. This one was caught on a jug line. Took two of us to haul the big bastard into the boat.

We've seen one bigger that we noodled out of a hole, but it got loose before we could get it to the bank. But you know how fishing stories go. ;)

I, too, am an avid outdoorsman! Here is my biggest catch. Around 68lb flathead caught last march.

Pretty much always available with advance notice. Hunting for a new job right now, so if I do get hired before then, evening may be my only option.

Not as new as it once was.

What are coded ramifications of a weapon showing "not as new as it once was" or "It is beginning to show its age" when examined?

Re: Militia Clan RPTs (Not for Guard Use)

It'd be nice to get at least a weekly patrol RPT going for the Militia. Even if it is just a one shot rpt, what day this week or next best suits everyone?

Any chance a new newsletter will come out soon? It's nice for players to see what is being worked on, and what the current focus is on.

Re: Are we in Alpha?

Simply put, we refuse to be rushed, or pressured in to things that we are not ready for. We are not trying to slap together a gameworld that is just good enough for us to tell a nebulous story that climaxes and then leaves us all saying 'Now what?' I don't see how having ongoing plot in this phase ...

Are we in Alpha?

In light of the recent newsletter that says we're pulling back on RPAing... Why, I must ask? I know that we are in 'alpha' and building Laketown, but every other aspect of the game is treated as a full game. We have real PCs IG that are trying to tell real stories. We don't do rezzes, we adhere to k...

I was more curious as to why a player donated craft, donated for the use of human sides benefit was used for one maybe two people and set to nocraft. Unless the only people that can ever make a recurved compound bow...Which I doubt but hey I am not anywhere near a Tolkien Lore expert. Hi Tykanis; I...

Re: Trust

In the main I quite agree with what Icarus says about the elves/dwarves/other races in this area. They are much closer to the common men here, and I definitely think that ultimately the race boosts should reflect that. Personally, I do like to have the other races have a bit of a difference to the ...

Re: Trust

An orc who considers his group a cut above the rest, while considering that elf normal is reducing the player of the elf's worth and we must take that in to consideration as well. In the end, comparing average to average is the same as comparing above-average to above-average. To state otherwise is...

Re: Trust

You've completely disregarded all of our concerns. You told us not to worry about stats, skills, and eq and yet tell is you'll continue to grant just those things to who you see fit. That causes angst. You took a huge break and then stepped in and took charge, oblivious to the concerns of your playe...

There seems to be an utter lack of respect creeping in with a number of posters here. I believe I have taken great pains to be polite, forthcoming, and succinct while also validating each person that I respond to as a logical human without resorting to name calling, misquoting or embellishment. Sad...
