Re: Bored

Personally I tend to get incredibly emotionally attached to my characters, like to an extent which is honestly pretty embarrassing to admit. It's how I get involved with roleplay and it's what gets me excited and wanting to come back and play more. I can't do one-off PCs and character death has been...

Re: The Songs of the River Running Region

I've got a few I wrote for old characters that could be relevant with some trimming and changing of context to make them fit this setting. I can post them up after work :D

Re: Totally Random

Remember kids, don't write crafts or read forums on a hour and a half of sleep. Otherwise paper cuts and hang nails become the same thing or something >.>

Don't worry, bro. You were just training me to lane by myself in case I ever had a support who had narcolepsy. It went okay sometimes.

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

I...I'm not entirely certain but I think you and I just agreed. Like, if you turn your head sideways and squint we're saying the same thing at the core and have similar grievances but from different sides. But back to super awesome Dwarf mail, I think with this being an RPI, the code exists to suppo...

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

Yeah, you can. You don't go swimming while wearing full plate and carrying two sacks full of stones. You don't try to skin a boar when you've got a deer. Could you say I'm oversimplifying the issues at hand to the point of meaninglessness? I'm not the first. There's so many variables with combat and...

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

Yes, let's tell Grommit and Icarus more about how the combat engine works. I'm absolutely certain they need to know as they have literally know idea and don't spend significantly more time elbow deep in code than just about anyone involved in this discussion. But I mean, hey? Isn't an inherent imbal...

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

I'd say there's a stark and necessarily mentioned difference between filling in gaps and overwriting what's already there.

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

It seems to me an underlying issue behind all this is a mistrust with the RPP system. Would people be more comfortable with higher roll-in bonuses if they had faith that the people who were using them had truly earned them in the past? Yeah, that day three Dwarf might be able to roll the day fifty O...

Re: Air NZ safety video

I honestly thought this was a spam post until I watched the video and now I'm probably going to spend an unjustifiable amount of time trying to figure out how much of New Zealand's economy is based off tourism generated by Lord of the Rings

Re: PVP: how is it these days?

I remember something akin to a turn based system from a MUD someone here was running (I think it was called Songs of Albion?) which required an emoted action before the combat roll went through. The slower pace was offset by generally higher damage each round. Or that's how it was pitched/explained ...

Re: Increased player count, what brought you back?

What brought me back.. fond memories, and dissatisfaction with the alternatives. But I am not entirely back yet either, at least IC. I want to play more, but RL gives me odd hours to work with. I'm there with you. I'd put much more consideration into playing if I wasn't always working through peak ...

Re: Behind the username

Hi! I'm Holmes, formerly Malkara. I am not a girl. This is an important fact, don't believe anything other people tell you. You're both a girl and a goddamned liar. I know this because Malkara ends with an "a" and is therefore feminine, making you a girl. I think he just got burned out and has move...
