Re: Utterby Wish List

Yeah pheasants don't do much in the way of attacking.

Also the fact they fly away means they usually end up bleeding out over water... Which leads to a rather hungry hunter at the end of the day ;)

At least they're good target practice.

Re: Flee = Not helpful

Realistically. A wolf or a Warg - unless reasonably injured, is going to out-run you.

It should be hard to get away.

It stops people being superhuman and strutting through the wildlife like they're godlike.

Yeah, this is probably why you should read the entirety of a post before losing your marbles about what we're NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS GOING TO DO!!11! ETA: I thought this was the new and improved JME. Wtf man? Look, OMOTING and expecting players to appreciate the OMOTE isn't going to happen. Playe...

Re: Utterby Wish List

We're not OMOTING locks, that just ISN'T going to happen.

The second players actually CONSIDER omotes in their actions, I'll eat both my feet, my keyboard, and whatever else I can manage before dying.

It's just not happening.

Re: Utterby Wish List

Or we could just all stop being douchebags and quick picking up things that don't belong to us...or ask first...but no. This will never happen. Internet. To be fair - thieves exist. So long as it's RPed out properly I don't see the problem with this. Though eventually, pick-locks WILL exist, ...

Re: Sword/Axe/Staff hunting - Realism

One thing I've noticed is that, rabbits and deer tend to be able to flee faster than other wildlife, almost to the point of just-after attacking them. Think this is reasonable to make up for the face you can attack them - though maybe they should make it so that you must be hidden and pass an ambush...

Re: Utterby Wish List

I think lockable chests would be fine enough, not sure about lockets in the theme. But simple chests would suffice.

Re: Combat RP Etiquette and YOU!

If you want to RP out their death, then you could use the code to stabilise them, stop bleeding etc and then wait for them to wake. You can also use the umm.. subdue command I think (don't remember the exact command) so that they don't just flee. Also, a point to note. Some people are less open to ...

Re: Projected Focuses: Human Sphere

It's simple, lower quality weapons hinder skill, failing skills = chance for raise.

Also you need more hits to kill stuff, so the fights last longer = more opportunities for gains.

Bones is usually wrong a bout a lot of things - but he's bang on the money about this. 4 stars = you've got a bit of a limp or maybe short on breath, but you can make do. 3 stars = you're half dead, you are in fight or flight mode likely. 2 stars = you are struggling to move around comfortably, espe...

Also, try to keep the message vague, account for the fact this information is hear-say, for example - try not to give unrealistic details that are over the top and no one would actually care to mention.

Brief and to-the-point is the way forward.

Re: Sword/Axe/Staff hunting - Realism

Think there could be some code written for PCs to require high agi to catch up to the creature or something... Don't really see a problem exploiting code vs wildlife - so long as it's not over the top or effecting other players.

Re: Combat RP Etiquette and YOU!

1. What exactly is the difference between 'hit' and 'kill'? Is there still a 'mercy' setting, and, if so, how does it interact with these two commands? Roughly how often will accidental deaths still happen with 'hit'? Hit = You will continue attacking until your opponent is unconscious. Kill: You w...

Re: Utterby Wish List

I like this whole idea of ordering in stuff, I'm actually working on something that I'll run by imms, see if we can't do this all with PCs besides the actual loading of objects from orders/smuggling/shipments etc.

Clothes. Yes, I get there is a PC tailor which is awesome, do not get me wrong. But an NPC market for clothing, trinkets, tools for RP use like brooms, mortar and pestles, scrub brushes, bedding, shelves, teapots, cups, whatever. Crafts for heating tea or making tea that are general-cooking. Fancy ...

I'm totally cool with it =) But this thread, as Frigga so eloquently put it - shouldn't be about "Oh I wish Mach wasn't such a bla bla", that's just pointless :P My wi...

Re: Combat RP Etiquette and YOU!

I'm fine with them just hiding, really. It's easy enough to attribute it to catching a glimpse before they slip into cover. The only time I have a problem with it is when people are having an engaged conversation and just Batman out of there without a word. I think the only gripe I have is when peo...

Combat RP Etiquette and YOU!

Re: ROE and YOU

I am still really peeved about something that happened a few days ago, so gonna vent here as it is mildly related. Going out with somebody and then pretending to be afk when an aggro mob walks in and attacks the person you're with, so you can rob them when they die is not cool. I don't care if you ...
