Yo.
Orc sphere, how have you been? I see that... nothings been updated in a few years for you. Where's your docs for new players? How are your current players, still grebbin' bog iron? Oh the good times we had together, just wanted to check in with you, and see how things were.

Re: Trust
Nim, do you really think the orc sphere is just a pack of PK hounds? Really? Do you understand that PK has happened just as often from both sides?
Really discourages me to think that's what you feel the entire sphere is about.

Re: Trust
Yes, a group of six nameless orcs would run from an elf.
I'd like to think the orcs that have built a name for themselves are far more powerful. Not to mention the only elf they ran from was Legolas, an elven prince. Not exactly a fair comparison.

This isn't constructive and only serves to take the wind out of the sails of all the VOLUNTEER staff we have. Mistakes were made and admitted. Beating a dead horse won't help.
How about offering a plan for custom character submission standardization or something instead?

Re: Shadows of Sparville II: Grind, Twinks, and Power Creep
This sounds like punishing players for time played. A good read. Gave me a chuckle. Disparity is reality. Quit worrying about putting kid gloves on all the time. If over-sparring is happening the admins will see it and flag no gains. Legacy characters should not be punished. They are the p...

Re: Archery Code
I remember in Atonement playing with a certain horned mutant that made "ballistic" shields. The craft for them was different than regular shields. I'm thinking that in SOI and for player longevity the heavier 10 lb craftable (soon to be craftable, not up on what's standard these days) should be flag...

Paying RPP for Stat Boosts
How do you the players feel about paying RPP for stat boosts? i.e. I am an orc who rolled a peak STR. I have 3RPP. I spend one of my RPP to boost my peak STR to superhuman STR. I am now docked a RPP point and receive a stat point in STR. Do you think this sort of practice belongs at Shadows of Isild...

Gobbo I use watch like that myself, I mean if you are watching something actively... it couldn't just disappear on you unless it was able to break the line of sight, yeah? I wouldn't worry about that to much, it what it was designed for originally.

Ok so lets see here. I wouldn't call any of this discussed so far as "twinky" as much as knowledge of code. Ok except for the rehiding thing, that was posted while I was writing this in at work. Use the command 'cover' will make you practically unhittable by ranged weapons but you will sti...

Or... maybe don't hunt friggin' orcs at friggin' night then complain where there is a coded conflict? I'm past listening to the he said she said here. If we are not going to accept that BOTH SIDES have acted at times without proper roleplay and this blame is to be set squarely upon individual player...

Re: Losing interest
My only beef, I think, with how the current interactions have been is I personally feel that orcs have been attacking human players -too- close to Utterby. Some have reportedly been attacked/killed literally less than 5 rooms away from the town's gates, and more often than not, this is with the pur...

Re: Losing interest
Having just lost my PC to the human sphere a few days back I guess my only comment to the OP is this. Do not go into a hostile area if you do not want to risk your character. Accept that death may be an outcome to your actions if they are dangerous. Humans have killed just as many orcs as orcs have ...

Re: [Feedback Request] Current Armor & Weapons
Devil's advocate just for a moment.... Why are we overlooking bleeding cause by swords? Alot of people have climbed aboard the bludgeon nerf train but I distinctly remember a few times where catching a bleeder was the end of my character. You can't bind in combat and if you flee with one you are so ...

Most bears getting killed these days are the weaker versions from the hunting craft set as far as I'm aware.

Re: PVP: how is it these days?
TBH I've been totally ok with the opposition fleeing and getting away. I have no desire to kill anyone's PC and add anymore notches to my belt. That may contrast how my character would act somewhat but I'm a big fan of, "I'll get you next time Gadget! Next time!" myself.

Re: Unarmed weapons?
Better tell that to anyone using a dagger. They are not really practical weapons of warfare-- oh wait elves.
Couldn't imagine an orc with a clawed gauntlet or a dwarf with a caestus or an elf with a punching dagger? Not even a little?
I like canons they go BOOM.
