Re: What do you think about hunting?
What if common aggro animals (boar, wolf, warg) yielded lower quality leather etc than non-aggo (deer, fox...), or high-end aggro (big bear, big boar)? On top of that, what if the highest quality materials came from Hunting crafts with very long timers and high skill checks? That would make Hunting ...

Those guys! They had the person-tossing special attack, right? One of my very few human PCs died to being thrown off the bloody town walls. That was possibly the most awesome PVE death I've ever hadSongweaver wrote: Snow Trolls: Remember when they swarmed Angost? Epic.

Re: Embarrassing
Spatting is an old orcish tradition that some seem to have forgotten the rules of. It's simple. The first person to draw a weapon or resort to coded combat is the loser. It's that simple This. People keep forgetting the importance of spatting, and the cultural background behind it. If an orc beats ...

Sixth sense
Since when has it been a standard norm to spam search the moment you OOCly know your hide has been broken, and therefore you OOCly know something/body is in the room? How does your character know that? No, I haven't had a character revealed that way recently. It just boggles me when I see it happen ...

Remember when shields not only blocked arrows, but also blocked blows properly and gave your arm blunt damage when you blocked a really bad blow? However, we're derailing the thread...
I do agree that shield crafting could use some loving.

I can imagine a few crafts would be okay to stay hidden - scouting for strawberries, that kind of stuff. But chopping trees? Silliness..

Re: Carry Over
I do agree that the starting skillpoint pool seems a little on the low side, but not massively so. Otherwise, I do not really like the idea of rolling over skill points. RPP leading to overpowered characters has always been an issue on SoI, and one I didn't particularly like. That said, I hate the o...

Re: Pfile Notes
Give the player an option to see their pfiles? Yes. But not automated, so that the RPA handling it can edit out parts - some notes might contain sensitive info about plots or other characters. OR, make only pfiles from the previous year visible. RPI players are generally mature enough to handle a bi...

Re: skillcheck failures -- argh!
In my experience, the crafts that say 'Familiar' are usually pretty damn difficult to do - and my assumption is that that is a feature rather than a bug ;-) The skill level mentioned in the materials list seems to mean the minimum level where you have a decent chance to succeed, and seems to general...

Re: sharpen wicked-blade
Maybe give the orcs a different set of 'forge x-component' crafts? Everything would be the same, just the blade description would be different. Ie scimitar instead of longsword - much more canon!

Re: Crafting Requests
oh, forgot to mention... Currently torches are uncraftable by orcs, due to us not having access to fabric. That's a pretty big deal when you live in a dark mountain. Perhaps animal fat and rawhide would make a usable alternative to cloth torches? Or even just add 'a ragged patchwork tunic' and 'a r...

How about a timer that prevents you from searching in the same room for a set amount of time, similar to how Forage works? Maybe not -that- long. Like... 5RL minutes or so?

Any particular reason why 'a $pquality hand-axe with a $leathercolor leather-bound haft' doesn't work for woodcraft-timberwright crafts? If not, could we have it added?
