Character wipe then do away with rpp entirely. Every character, especially admin ones, begin with nothing.

First of all, a short disclaimer: I realize this forum is not intended for things like this any more, but since we do not have an OOC Forum, I hope you will allow this one thread as it's pretty important since there is no other outlet to remind people to vote. So please don't lock this thread. We ar...

Re: Using Shops to Sell to Players

I'm not in disagreement. Some kind of give-me-some-money crafts could work, but the economy has bigger problems than just getting a crafter or two to come out of their shops once in a while. I was going to pay some PCs to help me move some logs, but then I realized I couldn't because I don't know an...

Re: Using Shops to Sell to Players

There is a way to band-aid the current system. On SOI2 there was the order command. With it, certain shops were capable of ordering virtually any item, they just cost more than what you would typically pay if going through a PC crafter. Either bring this back or perhaps put a mall of stalls object i...

Re: Using Shops to Sell to Players

It is clear that the current system is completely unworkable as it is. The system is designed for a game that has a hundred times more players than it does now. This would be a good system years from now if/when there are ever that many active players, but right now all it has done is grind everythi...

Re: Availability Thread - Where We All Have Lives

Hi there, Orka. Let me help you out, bro. This game is an RPI. It's, first and foremost, about roleplaying. It is definitely not about strolling through the forest slaughtering mob after mob on your way to leetness. The hack and slash games are that way -----> Yes, the forest is a maze and that's to...

Re: *crickets*

Human sphere's doing alright, honestly. It's even getting a minor resurgence. I'd say: log in. Poke friends of yours. Make some noise. Or else if you can't manage it, give it a rest and try and help the other half of the game. If the dog won't hunt, put it down and move on. I'm all for seeing orcs ...

Questions Regarding Racial Stat Boosts

Hello. I have some questions about what is in character generation. What are the racial stat boosts that different races receive? They are either missing or not clarified in character generation. Beorning- 1 RPP - Am I to take it these receive no stat bonuses at all? Rohirrim and Wargs - No descript...

Re: Honest Initial Feedback from an OG

It would be much more fluid and less immersion-breaking if this were done, but it seems it's too difficult, at least for now.

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

I would recommend just reading The Silmarillion. It is certainly not light reading, but it will give you a megadose of lore. It's easier to understand the gameworld once you have.

Re: Magic in Shadows of Isildur

Solution: Send me all the magic documentation you can find. I will compile it and make an entry for the wiki. You're welcome.

Then, players and admins alike can refer to this document when responding to or creating plots.

Yes, exactly. I am sure with very little trouble I could easily get a dozen or so items on my belt. Asking for three isn't much. :P

You know what would make playing this game a crap ton easier and (probably) be easy to implement? Three <worn on belt> slots! Please make this happen.

Re: Racial Stat Boosts

Which stats get boosted don't really matter that much from a code perspective since we have the upgrade command. From a lore perspective, they should probably be static. But yes, the third option without question.

I really don't think that you'd feel good about that either, were the tables turned. Maybe I'm wrong, though. Not saying that you did anything wrong, Brian. I don't think that these policies are good for the game, and I think that this thread goes a long way to suggest that even the players who are...

Re: Shadows of Sparville II: Grind, Twinks, and Power Creep

Hmm. I struck a nerve or two. Gonna respond to everyone, so long post. The arena prog only allows you to gain skill until you hit talented in deflect. That's right! It's not a bug. It's how the engine is supposed to work. The reason it doesn't work this way is either because builders are building s...

Re: Shadows of Sparville II: Grind, Twinks, and Power Creep

The arena prog only allows you to gain skill until you hit talented in deflect. When this happens you get a message that you cannot gain further regardless if the other skills you're using have not gotten to talented yet. I'm guessing this is a bug by your description. I theorize it would do the sam...

Re: Trust

In reply to the player/staff mentioned by Matt, he started the game with riveted hauberk, which was uncraftable at the time, and also with a polished weapon, which is still uncraftable. That is nothing to knock the character, though. Really like the PC. Just not his his -starting- gear. Don't forge...

Dirt and Dust

Could we please greatly tone down the rate at which clothing gets dirty just walking through town? If you clean yourself before you leave home and go to the inn, you're filthy by the time you get to where you're going.
