Re: Badguy Race Ideas

Well the thing is all that requires coding. Giving PCs a natural AC doesn't work at the moment, which is why wargs weren't really viable during their first iteration.

Badguy Race Ideas

So Brian pointed out something in general: the goodguys have loads of goodguy races, but there are hardly any badguy races. Rather than hijack that thread I figured I'd start one here for ideas for more badguy races. Right now the list is: Good guys: Human (0 RPP) Dwarf (3 RPP) +1 STR, +1 CON, -1 DE...

I've always been a fan of races requiring RPP, as opposed to costing.

As a brief off-topic, this is how they're determined. IIRC each skill has its own equation that determines its cap. The only think int determines is your overall cap, which is all skill points combined.

Re: RPP Proposal

While I like the idea of this, I don't particularly like some of the examples listed, and have a couple of questions besides. Questions first: 1. How do you raise your max RPP? 2. How often can you raise your max RPP? 3. Do you request for you max RPP to be raised like your current RPP, or does it j...

Re: Who Command

Yes, the people in the inn are taken into account for the total of all in Utterby, and I believe they still count as being in Utterby until they hit the treeline. Don't quote me on that though. You're right. You'll often see like 7 in Utterby and 3 in the inn, but you'll never see more in the inn t...

Re: Safe-er Zones

The rooms directly outside of orcland and utterby should be flagged nomob, meaning that mobs won't enter it unless forced to by an admin. At least, they were as of three years ago.

Re: Forget Command?

Using Ignore will stop gains in a skill, and pinpoint it as one to deduct from when maxed out for overall skill points. Once the skill falls below the threshold for beginner, it will remove from the skill list. IIRC, ignore ignores a skill entirely, and doesn't give it any gains or losses - it'll s...

Re: Bog Iron/Resource Progression

The last time I checked (so like 4 years ago) I (am pretty sure that I) remember crappy bog iron did change the quality of weapons/armor, though I don't THINK it changed the amount of damage an item took. So if you had a pitted bog iron sword, and a refined bog iron sword, they'd take the same amoun...

Re: PVP - A player discussion

Stuff about people ganging up on 1 PC I don't see a problem with this, personally. It was a problem back in old SOI when there wasn't a hard limit of how many people could be attacking one person, when you could get 10 people on one guy, for instance. With this engine, however, there's a hard cap o...

The only issue with disabling kill is that it would make PVE incredibly tedious.

It shouldn't be very hard at all to make the strike command cease combat after your target goes KO.

Re: Stronghold combat - OOC testing event

So, just to clarify, if you assault a stronghold, and only you enter it, you'll have to fight a total of 3 NPCs? And if 2 of you enter, you'll have to fight 6, etc?

As a note, the current IG area is only like 100 miles away from the Lonely Mountain, so the tribe could feasibly be a part of the Jangovar, depending on what timeline that paste is from.

2 - Leading a PvP party So usually, back when I was doing some heavy leading 3 or so years ago, I would always wait till my party was gathered, stop them, and have an OOC conversation with them telling them what I expected from them during this outing, which mostly boiled down to: "If we get into th...

Massive Old Wainrider Doc

As I said in a previous thread, Icarus provided me with a 27 page PDF of Wainrider docs that was written back in 2008 or so, here they are as an attachment. I haven't read it yet.

And here's EVEN MORE: https://pastebin.com/pP3x9gve

So, the first docs are 27 pages long. I have a copy, and Icarus has a copy. Here's some others that I managed to scrounge up: New Players Guide: Easterlings *Maps of (Easterling Area Name) *Introduction to Easterlings - The Easterlings were Men of Rhun. In the Third Age, waves of Easterlings of vari...

Split: 0RPP Evil Humans, a Poll

Splitting this from my other thread, just to get a judge of people's thoughts. Does this mean that it'll even happen at all? Probably not. But whatever! So, here we go. Pros of 0RPP Evil Humans: 1. Easy to implement. Stick a dingy fort up on Vadok Mal (that can be improved by PCs with crafting or wh...

Echoing Songweaver's and Oblivion's posts. I can't really think of anything that could improve upon the current state, but Songweaver's suggestions seemed pretty spot on. I can, however, point out what I feel to be problems. 1. Wilderness is sparse, and what we do get is a joke. - I remember the ini...

Bored

[Precursor, most of this is just griping about playing combat characters. I'm sure crafters have a fantastic time, but I have never and will never play a crafter.] Feel free to flame me, but does anyone else play this game and just get dreadfully bored? Like I know there are downtimes and stuff, and...
