Re: Tightening things up

Well see? We were all doing it. No wonder. The last answer I got from them before they went silent was to whether I should wear the blue shirt or red shirt when I went out that night.

Re: Tightening things up

It's actually because I log on and ask them all how their days have been, then begin a monologue of my activities and thoughts.

Re: Ongull Adasson

I like all of these prospects. :D Attached are some old SoI texts that mention Fram and Scatha; I don't know offhand exactly how they match up to canon, but perhaps they might prove useful and/or inspiring to our current loremasters? I've forgotten so much of what I wrote for Northlands. It seems l...

Re: Starting skill levels & combat skillgains

I imagine there will be plenty of options for character concepts once we move out of alpha since Laketown is an established town rather than the frontier resource gathering outpost that Utterby is.

Re: Wish me luck!

Hico, where everybody is somebody. Sounds pleasant, good luck to you cowpoke. Thanks. I just got back. Apparently it's very difficult to stay hydrated in 100 degree weather while working over a 2000 degree forge. I've got a visible crust of salt mixed in with all the soot on my shirt and a pounding...

Re: Ongull Adasson

In response to the actual topic, I see no problem with folk heroes having a widespread fame. Tall tales about exaggerated heroes have always been popular among the working class people of the world.

Re: Ongull Adasson

You didn't just write, "Frigga, you're doing a good job, try not to let the criticism get you down!" You quote unquote labeled any criticism, which would reflect on Rivean and what he wrote, as "something he would never dare say in person" without having any idea what he wrote. Your choice of words...

ETA: I'm missing the correct word. Uh. I guess contrary? Anyway, contrite is the opposite of what he was being.
It was meant as a mixture of sarcasm and incredulity if that helps. ;)

Re: Ongull Adasson

Yeah, I was looking for a different word. Okay but the whole skipping over Rivean's walls of texts is admittedly something I expected. I read about half of what Rivean posted, but I didn't disagree with what he used as a preamble to it, that he wasn't trying to rain on anyone's parade or anything. ...

Not being contrite about everything would be just as effective for cozy conversations on this forum, too, bro. I shouldn't express remorse that I offended someone? Or were you looking for a different word there? Honestly, I didn't even read Rivean's criticism, all I saw was that Frigga felt it was ...

Re: Ongull Adasson

Don't let the critics get you down Frigga. You know how the internet is, people say things they'd never dare say in person. I'm flabbergasted by your inability to recognize constructive criticism (something I have been fortunate enough to have received from Frigga in the past) when you see it, and ...

Im also in the land of rootin, tootin, pointin and shootin Texans. Been asked to do a 6 month work placement on a ranch just...

Re: Ongull Adasson

I've got to be totally honest, nothing kills my excitement and creativity more than "sorry but this all sucks" posts. People have requested cultural frameworks, but this leaves me concerned everything will meet with the same reaction. In which case, I'll just crawl back to my cave and write more cr...

Re: Wearing multiple pieces of layered armor

Just as a note, gambesons were made to wear under other armor, as padding.

I know what you mean though. I live in Texas and every time I see a hipster wearing a long sleeved shirt under their buttoned up flannels, I want to slap them.

Re: Character Creation?

It would also benefit to have the Chargen actually create and display a result with each stage, so by the end if it really comes to it, the concept could be altered. Although I don't like the idea of modifying the concepts for the coded stats but that's what you have to deal with in the end. Sooner...

Re: Starting skill levels & combat skillgains

It's hard for me to keep a Tolkien-ish narrative in my head with the death rate - with characters either ignoring constant death, or going insane with grief, it's really tough to play (if you care about writing a character with a sort of coherent life, which I know doesn't bother some people). I th...

Re: Sparring, whether the target or 'fring fighter'

I said people who don't want to work for what their character achieves and just want to jump into the game claiming to be a veteran warrior with so much experience under their belts when the code clearly does not support such a background might be happier going to rp where no one can actually refut...
