Re: Archery Code

This sounds a lot like just nerfing archery into the ground...It would make it way more difficult to play a scout type if you can't snipe mobiles from a distance. Sometimes skirmish tactics are all that work. A warg can cross that three miles in no time. About 2-3 seconds if he's shot at, and almos...

Re: Archery Code

Please don't remove bleeding from archery unless it's just against people wearing armor. It's a big part of what supports hunting code, and would make it painfully difficult to hunt basic animals. the way I see it, bleeding levels should be the same as a spear. high moderate damage or worse causes ...

Re: Archery Code

all agree we're AIMING longbows at the speed we aimed rifles...which is again way faster than we should. bows can actually be fired pretty quickly, the speed you take aim and shoot is pretty well represented by ingame code. When you use a bow, you simultaneously raise the bow at the same time you d...

Re: Archery Code

FYI - We do allow and encourage our staff members to play characters in the game. Most of them do. We work extremely hard to keep these characters on the down low and try to choose supporting roles wherever we can. Though staff are free to reach for bigger and better things, just like our players a...

Re: Departure of Icarus

it felt like Icarus was carrying the game on his back for quite some time. His RPTs were amazing and he was super active. Not sure whether the game is going to manage without him unless someone else steps up to the plate.

Re: Is it time to consolidate?

I really do like the idea of a clan of roguish/barbaric humans in the moral grey-zone that is willing to interact with both orcs and humans. It would provide a safe way for ransoms to be done, and give ways for the two sides of the game to actually communicate. Also it would be a pretty exciting rol...

Re: Is it time to consolidate?

both the most effective and the easiest to implement solution, would be for all the veteran players to simply start logging back into their PCs and proactively playing. Be around to help coach the newbies and get things happening in your sphere. Discussing consolidation because the playerbase is low...

Aww, that's so sweet.
orcs are all softies at heart. If you look closely, most of them have little pet kittens hidden away in their nests

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

Indeed. Alice might submit her request as a one off unique special master bathtub, or a request for a fancy repeatable item, ie a clanned craft. But yes, that request might spawn the. creation of basic craft Bob and others, and Alice can ultimately use. I think this is a very smart way to go about ...

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

can staff clarify on whether it's 1 month added to your craft timer, or just a limit of 1 custom craft per month? From what I read, I'm assuming it's the latter, Droll, and you can get started on making custom crafts right away

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

So basically, this is where we are going: To make a "master craft" item or craft, you must already have the "standard version" of it, and your unique version will codedly be identical. This keeps down the possibility of any staff abuse or favoritism, and makes our lives easier. "Master Craft" one-o...

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

As far as weaponry and armor goes... it is vague for a reason. It is wholly impossible for us to have this night-or-day. Each piece of armor, weapon, and each craft will be completely picked apart and discussed topside by staff and things will be taken into consideration: ability of the crafter, qu...

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

• Custom weapons and armor (whether crafts or unique one-time items), due to any coded advantages will only be considered on a case by case basis as well as crafter skill to determine the quality of either. File this under confusing. Does this mean you CAN master-craft armor/weapons with coded adva...

That's the standard. We're just trying to define what race is what RPP, and make sure there are no gaps.

Re: Paying RPP for Stat Boosts

Me & Grommit worked on the port a bit tonight. We've a bit more testing, but IG chargen is technically live. Last touch is disabling Online chargen and re-enabling IG account creation. As for RPP races, it's a similar system to Atonement. You pick one, we pick one, etc. 1 point boost per rpp. aweso...

Re: Paying RPP for Stat Boosts

How do you the players feel about paying RPP for stat boosts? i.e. I am an orc who rolled a peak STR. I have 3RPP. I spend one of my RPP to boost my peak STR to superhuman STR. I am now docked a RPP point and receive a stat point in STR. Do you think this sort of practice belongs at Shadows of Isil...

Re: Master Crafting Policy - New!

looking good. One thing I'd like clear and well defined rules on, are the limits of a master crafted items coded capabilities. Do they all need to be setvals, or objects that match a currently craftable object with only aesthetic differences? Are minor improvements allowed, such as a higher carrying...

RPP races

what are the rules for creating rarer races like elves, dwarves and Dunadan? What stat boosts are applied to each race and how much RPP is required for each one?

we're going to do a follow up RPT to the last one, aiming for friday/saturday evening depending on when staff are available, I'll edit this post when I find the exact time. All wargs/orcs are welcome to attend.
