Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

RPP as a system is inherently flawed (in it's current form) to begin with, but that's beside the point. There's a few different arguments being made, with the general inflection used by staff being "we'll generally attempt to balance things but if the way we implement something generally which favor...

Warg Hunting

Just curious, since I don't think they would be very hard to make.

But some warg specific hunting crafts, perhaps ones that require followers (you know, hunting as a pack) would be neat. Though it seems like the kind of thing that's already planned to some degree. Was that being discussed top-side?

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

Sure, Tolkien says that elves are superwtfbbqsauceawesome and one of them can kill a bajillion orcs by himself, but sit back and ask yourself-- what if you were playing that orc? Why would you even log in again if some elf rocked into a room and one-shot you? This is why, Brian. It's about playabil...

Re: New Races, Balance, and Lore

Another problem presented with the whole, "Admins are NOT allowed to play PCs!" policy though Kory, is that even if they were allowed to, most admins didn't play combat PCs, so the most input they could glean from regularly playing a PC is an understanding of the economy, if they don't just go full ...

Not trolling. Also don't want to be political. And I also don't want you to be diplomatic, that's why I'm posting this here, instead of sending a PM or sending this up into the suggestion box website-side. If you have good reasons for doing the things you do then I'm sure there's more people than me...

This wouldn't work due to the current design of wounds and other factors involved in combat. Like bleeding.

Re: PVP: how is it these days?

You know how sometimes, in a Tarantino movie, there's these parts where like, a bunch of people on one side of a conflict all have this plan together, or they're doing some mission or caught up in some business, and then, on the other side of the same coin, the OTHER people are doing the same thing,...

Re: Pfile Notes

That was part of my point in my original post, but I think it got lost in my digression. Having pfile notes available to the player seems like it would discourage an admin actually engaging in a dialogue with a player instead of just slapping a note up for future perusal. Although I can see the oth...

Re: Pfile Notes

Worthwhile mention: The level of transparency, at least in regards to this being implemented or not (and it seems even at this level it isn't wanted by a good portion of people) is just on a 1 on 1 basis, with admins being able to view all notes on all players and players just being able to view the...

Re: Warg Docs

A good point, I think. I think all that needs to be done is a slight rephrasing, I.E, only the Chief may lay with the females of the pack, and the Chief only lays with the willing regardless/in addition. It is worth noting at all, though, because culturally a warg wouldn't let anyone but the best ma...

Re: Carry Over

I can guaran-god-damn-tee you that anyone intimately familiar with this engine will know what level their skills are at regardless of being able to see them or not, possibly within a 1-5 point margin of error. But also, it really doesn't matter either which way so I don't see why you'd change visibi...

Re: Pfile Notes

The proposal is, as Real and Nimrod even said, players being able to see what a staffer wrote on their file, not, as apparently everyone thinks, the staff posting a player's file for them, their parents, their fellow players, God, and everyone else to see. Let's be fair here, bro. God saw what you ...

Re: Pfile Notes

So, question. If everyone could see the twinky bullshit you might or might not pull, or the illogical arguments with staff that you probably only considered making when you thought nobody else in the community would be able to see them and thus ridicule you for it, would there be a lower frequency o...

Re: Carry Over

Personally, attaching any coded ramifications that go beyond flavor to RPP seems like a bad idea, in my mind. You can drum up any number of justifications for why Player X should have 5 RPP and Player Y should only have 2 or perhaps 3, but Player X is the type of player who will typically either not...

Re: Carry Over

Rather than add in code that can be easily gamed by abusive players, maybe the amount of points players start with out of chargen should be looked at again?

I mean, it's not like exactly that has been suggested repeatedly since the start of this iteration of the game. :|

If any of you guys play on Sanctum of Rall, I'd be down to chase dragons, or tag up and screw around on EotM or EB. Add WorkerDrone.8703. I will probably be paired with a Krelm, just so you know what you're getting into. We're like a boxed set at this point. Right now I'm saving for a transfer to a ...
