Re: Utterby Wish List
Yeah I'm legitimately pissed, speaking from the opposite side, that that came to pass. But it was one person leading a bunch of people into the maw, and then RIGHT up to the proverbial and perhaps literal doorstep, without the majority's consent. I suppose we should've known better and chosen not t...

Re: Utterby Wish List
Yeah, haha, I was just surprised. I didn't realize the leggings did it. Been wearing them. So I'm actually better at sneak/hide than I realized, whoo.
Also, uh..the orcs attacked Utterby on like day 2 of the game, you have no room to talk. (I wasn't involved in the attack.)

Re: Utterby Wish List
I just realized leather leggings significantly hinder sneak/hide (which of course doesn't make much sense), I thought it was just the gambeson, which -massively- hinders.
What is that, like -20 total? More?

I do not understand what is going on. I guess that's why I don't do crafters.

Strike with high agility is hilarious, since you can 'strike head' almost every attack (when sole-wielding anyways).

Hmm. I have an o-quality knife weapon than when I eval it or whatever, it only lists like 3 crafts it can be used for, where as the newbie one has like..15-20.

Newbie knife.
The newbie 'rough, bog-iron knife' is required for a lot of crafts, most of which won't accept a higher quality knife as as substitute, from the look of things.
Am I mistaken? If not, what are the odds of tweaking it to accept other knives?

Equipment Condition.
Do worn/damaged things perform at a lower level or is it just a sign that if you aren't careful, the item will break?
I.E. Does a damaged gambeson protect less? Does a worn longbow give a penalty to shots?

Re: Anyone else here with zero RP experience?
The quickest way to tell if someone might be an NPC is to look at their short description. Most NPCs don't have "man" or "woman" as their noun, but something like "lass", "stripling", "codger" or "matron", whereas only a minority of PCs tend to use words like that. The best way to be sure is to loo...

Re: Crafting Additions Discussion
It's there, apparently. It was changed to a forage item rather than a craft, both to reduce how much people bring in and because 'foraging' breaks hide, adding some danger.Snapdragon wrote:Related question: Is there going to actually be bog iron to find in the swamps?
Or at least that is my understanding.

Re: Utterby Wish List
Remove the sneak penalties to leather armor, and perhaps lower the weight a bit. It seems like a code holdover to a heavier armor type from Atonement, and leather armor is the preferred armor of sneaky-sorts everywhere. I would like to re-bring this to attention. My character has, how do you say, p...

I am answerin the question about whether you'll see a higher tier of metaltype. The answer is that you'll see iron as the highest tier for now. I still need to implement the iron craft. Thanks Tiamat. Sorry about putting it in the other thread. Is 'iron, just going to be like..doubly refined bog ir...

...I am growing more and more curious what the wield-style skills do, since I can apparently kill a boar sow (not the toughest thing ever, admittedly) by myself without much difficulty and without either skill being high enough to show on my sheet. Do they only come into play vs other people with we...

Can we please fix the exits in the wilderness so that ones which require climbing are colored to show it. Flush pheasant or whatever, I'm assuming it's a hunting craft, obviously needs a like 500 hour timer, since people can't be assed to use it responsibly.

If you want to gossip, gossip. If you don't want to gossip, you don't need imaginary npcs to do it for you or for you to hide behind. Sometimes the player posting doesn't 'want to gossip'. He wants to give off-peak characters an IC way to learn that the town gate was flattened by trolls, because, l...

Re: What the heck? Some help would be nice.
Bludgeon is a very poorly designed weapon skill. It seems to be the best by far. I could be mistaken, but I don't think swords are codedly much better. Bludgeons also is the only weapon skill with variety . Axes, maces, hammers, flails, staves, picks(?). Weapons that do crush-affects (which can be d...

Actually, there is IC accountability with the way it is set up, imo and there should be. If you post saying Joe The Crippled cooper was saying how dumb XYZ is...in my book, that can and should ICly be traced back to your character starting the gossip/whatever. If you want to gossip, gossip. If you d...

As a frequent river user, I've only seen one room that actually has the code where you get breath stars. Also, strength makes swimming gobs and gobs easier, or at least it seems to. Even while both being 'lightly encumbered', my peak strength character went under due to weight way less than my curre...
