Re: Carry Over

You are right Brian, ill not pursue it. But it is a diservice to the community to push for such an idea that is not proven, not needed nor perhaps wanted.

Re: Carry Over

This. While I think the overhaul would be worth the work, I am aware that now is likely not the best time for SOI to apply energy to such an overhaul. However, becoming aware of an issue (skill grinding being a very negative thing for RPIs) and applying energy to solving said issue (even hypothetic...

Re: Crafts and Hiding

Chopping trees are as follows: It's a copse. That's a tight group of small trees. Realistically, you could technically say by hiding, you're standing on the far side of the trees, allowing you to break the line of fire, if someone's shooting at you. But yeah, I wouldn't opposed to making all crafts...

Why are you pushing this? It seems like something that would open up far more issues than it would fix. Likely a terrible idea for a game in such a delicate stage with a small staff with a heavy workload.

Re: Pfile Notes

I've switched my vote after having read some of the replies, all this talk about us being a mature and respectful crowd it not as true as folk like to make out. Individually we are, but get a few of us together, share stuff on OOC Networks and we become frothing, raging, angry children that can not ...

Re: Carry Over

We outnumber the orc spbere by a fair margin, we always have done. Again this is entirely IG, key people putting chokeholds on there own industry because they dominate it so completely and surrounding ones that people would rather beg and wait and cry rather than use a lesser craftsman. The other sp...

Re: Carry Over

I do say shame, I find it unreasonable, unrealistic and unsupportive. The more niches you fill the less there are for others coming to the game. Futhermore this is a beta, new ideas to be tested is the key thing here. As for ordering you can not base your entire argument on one clans (in)actions. I ...

Re: Carry Over

The thing is, there's been a precedent for a while of taking an extraordinarily long time to complete tasks, and orders, and stuff like that. Things are made on order, after you order them, and remarkably slowly in a lot of cases, to the point that weapons will wear down to perma-damaged before you...

Re: Carry Over

Remove twinking entirely by massively increasing cooldowns? For crafts that produce items, double the returns on them? One craft, twice the results? Yes branching would decrease, but then players may go up? There are several players running around the human sphere who are more than capable in severa...

Head cheese, black pudding, meat pies, tripe, haggis, all the good stuff. Though with our area being one of the more egalitarian parts of Middle-Earth I don't think it is unreasonable for us all to enjoy the more choice cuts of meat! That is not to say spurn the peasanty goodness.

I think a lot of us already have had the chance to peek behind the curtain, one of the first things we do is check out our own PC's, our own Pnotes, our own stats and skills. It is an unfair advantage we have been given, to even things out, I believe it only fair that those who have little interest ...

Re: Carry Over

Just popping in to say: No, do not like. I'd still be in favor of raising starting skill levels and slowing skill gains across the board, so that the focus shifts from immediately having to grind survival/crafting skills up to have a playable PC to simply roleplaying the skills you should feasibly ...

That's true WD. But the ones that don't rp are the ones that can and have done but just... don't. They know what they do is poor form, they know what they do is twinking, they know what they do is bad for the game but they do it anyways. Nearly every new player I've seen comes in to this game loving...

Skills are already really easy to twink up, why do you need more reasons to get them faster. Ideally, more incentives for roleplay is what is needed.
