Scrap an App?

Post by RiderOnTheStorm » Thu Jun 19, 2014 12:53 pm

So say you submit an app in the web portal.

Then a few hours later, when it isn't 3am, decide you don't like it and want to do something else.

How do you unsubmit an app?

This has been an ongoing question by many folks. If you really want to scrap your app you need to open a support ticket and ask for it. It would be fairly simple for me to create an unsubmit button for players but it creates problems for staff who are reviewing applications. Also, it's the player's responsibility to not submit an application until they're sure.

We have a number of people reviewing applications, and will have even more in a few weeks, so there are times when an application may be accepted within a few minutes of submission. If a player submits and then a few minutes later decides they want to modify something but it's already been accepted, what are we to do? It's not going to be kicked back for you to make changes to.

Allowing players to go back and tweak their character the way they wish in chargen is one of the reasons we created the web portal. It's super easy to look everything over and make changes. But it's up to you to make sure everything is just the way you want it before you hit submit.

I don't plan on putting an unsubmit button in for players and make no guarantees that a support ticket requesting a submission be rejected get caught before the application is accepted. Staff rightly assume that any applications submitted have been thoroughly thought out and care has been taken in making the choice to submit. We cannot ask them to check several different places to make sure it's okay to accept an application.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
