Relax, Erna

Post by Nimrod » Wed Nov 06, 2013 5:45 pm

The subject title is one of my all-time favorite quotes of my father-in-law. He was speaking to his wife when she was all worked up about a fire in the backyard. He was burning some brush and the flames were literally 50 feet tall!

He's the most relaxed person I've ever met.

What does everyone else do around here to relax? I'm truly interested.

I'll start.

I like to...
sail
read (novels)
work in my garage (carriage house for you, Kite) ;)
exercise (though not nearly as much as I probably should)

I've very recently got into the habit of meditation. I like that zen feeling I get when I'm done.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

There's a lot that I do to blow off steam and it really depends on my mood. I like to:
  • play airsoft
    read
    work with my hands*
    exercise: crossfit
    exercise: run
* working with my hands entails a lot of things. I paint miniatures, assemble plastic models, cut out stencils for little DIY spraypaint projects, etc.

The endorphins from crossfit workouts are really beneficial to my mood.
[From Grommit] Sadly no, but you can buy a squatty potty

People say listen to music all the time, I really do. I could listen to prog rock for the rest of my life. That and reading old fiction. Also, drinking! Busch might not be the worst beer in the world, but it is damn near close to it.
