Photoshop Thread

Postby Forceknight » Fri Jun 20, 2014 3:20 am

I thought I'd start a thread so we can share our various photoshop projects / people can request stuff photoshopped for them.

I haven't really played on photoshop for years but I've recently got back into it. I did this one featuring Anne Frank today:

Like I said I'm pretty amateur but if you guys have any requests feel free to PM me and I'll give it a try (I'm sure theres many more talented photoshoppers here tho)

I do a fair amount of photomanipulation (though I use GIMP, so it's not really "photoshopping"). But people probably don't want to see all my weird Castle fan art.

I'm a photographer by trade, but the only thing I really use Photoshop for is artistic editing, not so much basic edits (like exposure, contrast, noise, etc. For that I use LightRoom). I also am really not that great at just making things in Photoshop. Mostly because I can't draw worth a flip. But here's one of my recent(ish) projects:

Not that drastic, but I like making things look a little dreamy.

Haha WildGiller thats awesome, is that avatar based on you? I googled the name but couldn't find any obvious famous person it was based off of.

Thats a beautiful edit Nyneve, it really improves the detail and makes for a much more elegant aesthetic. I've always been terrible at recolouring photos, it's nice to see it done well.

Weird fan art for my weird fanfics...

A Weekend In Hell - Which really makes no sense unless you're familiar with both Castle and the Ravenloft D&D campaign setting.
Javier Esposito as a Lowen - Which only makes sense if you're familiar with both Castle and Grimm.
Steve Rogers as a Frost Giant - Because reasons, okay?

And some book covers for my weirdo fanfics...do not ask what they are about, just, really...do NOT ask.

Hazgarn that Steve Rogers as a Frost Giant is awesome. If Joss Whedon plays SoI on the low I wouldn't be surprised if he steals the concept for the next Avengers movie :P

Gracias, ForceKnight! I did another shoot recently (like, two days ago) that I'm editing with sortof an Elvish theme in mind. Mostly because of the location/natural colors. I'll post up one of those in a bit here because I'm sorta proud of it.

Awh, heck. I'll do it now.

Is this a soft filter and a lens flare?

Belatedly, it is indeed!

Mattified it a bit and added in the flare for softer lighting. I'm not a fan of bold things, as a general rule.
