Unpopular Opinions Thread
I personally think that the orcs are ten times kinder then the humans, both ICly and OOCly.

Re: Unpopular Opinions Thread
While I have no desire to see any sort of opinion - however unpopular - stifled, I think that creating a thread with the express purpose of housing such ideas as to piss off other people is not the best considered enterprise in the world.
While I'm here though: Tolkien really didn't know how to write realistic characters.

I would trade SOI 3.0 for a Patrick Rothfuss 'Name of the Wind' MUD.

Dollhouse was a better television show than Firefly. BOOM.

Re: Unpopular Opinions Thread
As for my own, Northerners are actually jealous of the low crime rate, beautiful scenery and quality of life enjoyed by southerners. That's why they feel the need to make fun of us and call us all names.

Cheesebuns taste like cardboard.
A curvy, copper-haired woman drops a small, strawberry-blonde toddler girl.
Re: Unpopular Opinions Thread
Something both game-relevant and likely to be unpopular:
I think people insult each other too much IC. Specifically, I think people publicly defame, accuse and denigrate each other way more often than it makes sense for the sort of culture we're supposed to be representing.
It's about more than people getting their "feelings hurt".
Gossip and rumor-mongering was looked down on in many cultures for a reason. Libel was and still is a crime for a reason, and in many historical contests making aspersions against a person's character could be a very, very big deal. A person's good name and reputation is something that should be valuable--and wrongfully damaging that good name should be seen as something on par with vandalism.
I think people should take the tone of the setting into account before insulting people in public places like the Inn or in the streets. If someone is accused publicly of a crime, or incompetence, or even just bad manners, there should be consequences if those accusations can be demonstrated as untrue.
I don't think it makes sense for all this name calling to be going on as often and as visibly as it does.

This thread is the same as the Wishlist thread only this one encourages you to go all leroy jenkins with expressing your wish.
Re: Unpopular Opinions Thread
I vote we make a game of it and move it to the OOC forum where it belongs - gripe about anything other than the game and its players

Only if there are consequences, like loss of leadership roles when those accusations have mountains of proof behind them.Hazgarn wrote:Something both game-relevant and likely to be unpopular:

I am guilty of it, I know (and the cause of some of it), and you are right. I will try to tone it down.Hazgarn wrote:No arguments. Consequences are a good.RiderOnTheStorm wrote:Only if there are consequences, like loss of leadership roles when those accusations have mountains of proof behind them.

That was very well said, sir. Admitting one's mistakes is one of the hardest things for most people to do. Bravo.RiderOnTheStorm wrote:I am guilty of it, I know (and the cause of some of it), and you are right. I will try to tone it down.

Rivean's cat can be kind of hard to pick out against the background.
A skeletal, pig-tailed-haired male teen says,
"Prepare to meet your doom, loping man. It is I, loitering person, your nemesis."
