Green Dragon Inn Rules: Dead Guys

Post by Songweaver » Wed Jul 09, 2014 12:02 pm

What are the rules on discussing dead characters from SOI3?

One month?
Two weeks?
Who cares, rules are for chumps?
Everyone cares, don't ruin our immersion with your pandering?

Seven years.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Bare minimum 1 week for announcing his death and asking for feedback. But it should be longer for more intimate details/secrets of a character.

I've also seen blatant IC talk in the game lounge.

Code: Select all

There is currently 1 soul braving the world all alone.

Personally, I think it's fine to talk about dead characters, but sharing plot details is a BIG no no. If there's something plot sensitive about the way your character died, don't talk about it. Plots are sacred. Everything else? That's cool. Feel free to rant/reminiscence/laugh, whatever it is, about your dead character.

I think this is tricky. Some PCs have secrets that can have an impact on the IC world for ages after they're revealed. However, those do tend to be rare.

I'd be happier with a minimum two weeks, and otherwise use your common sense on what should remain off the public boards beyond that point.

The problem comes up where someone finds out from the forums that so and so has died, before their PC finds out IC. I'd really like to save that initial reaction for IC.

Which is a good point. I'd probably say that a month is a good buffer zone to talk about it here.

Atonement had a 1 month rule. I liked that a lot.
