Speedwalking and Idling

Postby Rivean » Thu Aug 14, 2014 3:55 pm

I've noticed that these issues have started to become noticeable now.

Speedwalking used to be highly frowned upon in Ye Goode Olde Days Before Alle Ye Young Whippersnapperse Came And Ruined My Game, and I don't know what staff policy is these days, but please when you're blitzing through rooms at the speed of light, at least pause for a few moments when you come across a PC so that the other person has the opportunity to emote at you. Bonus points if you emote at them too.

The matter of idling/suddenly going afk, this is something I'm seeing more and more of lately, and it seems a handful of people are repeat offenders. I get that people are playing from work and school so on (naughty naughty), but really, if I have to sit there for five or more minutes expecting an emote from you and not getting one, that can be a frustrating experience. It would be much preferable, if you cannot RP with people, if you simply did not log in till you have time to commit, otherwise you're wasting other people's time as well as your own.

ETA: At the least, a basic 'ooc Afk for 15 minutes' is the barest courtesy that you ought to offer your fellow players.

Sorry. I definitely do this to people. Sometimes I can play just fine from work, and other times it's problematic. I usually try to hide while I play during these times, but I really can't guess when I'm going to drop off.

My time to play outside of work is really messed up, so sometimes it's my only opportunity. I'd like to keep playing, though.

I'll do my best to give a heads-up before I poof.

I give people like 2 minutes tops before I go do something else.

Same, especially if the idler perks up when superpopular friend wanders in.
