Later, Icarus will post 14, and we'll all be stuck in limbo till January.
I really ought to come up with a character concept.

...said the ~150 players still checking their applications! If we go live with even 100 distinct characters right away I'd call that a pretty fantastic beginning.alexjones wrote:hope my character application is approved before then.

The commencement barge arrives from the east, sinking into the lake due to the massive weight it carries.
A cry rises out from the commencement barge, "Nooooo! We haven't trained swim yet!"
>Look east
To the east, a platform made of drowned newbies is here, forming a commencement bridge.

I couldn't possibly be as bad as Atonement BETA's opening, with 70 people in the same room, going through pre-game together, all asking the exact same questions individually.hobbitboots wrote:The commencement barge will sink under the weight of a thousand noobs.
One among the fence.

Come to the Ironwood Inn, PC Hoarde of newbies!
I hear they have excellent service there.

No. Not everyone sits at a tavern role playing. Nor do they want to. Keep social gathering spots to one or two places. That way, the people looking for RP can find it. If you get too many areas (I'm looking at you clan halls), just about every gathering place is sort of a graveyard.Hawkwind wrote:We might need more pubs and social spots, anything more than 10 people in one and it tends to get a bit spammy.

Yeah, I agree with that 100%. Granted, it's probably going to be crazy on day one - it's not always going to be like that.
Re: 8
Clan halls weren't so bad on old SoI. They got used for clan activities and stuff, then people went off elsewhere when clan stuff wasn't going on. ARPI/PRPI - there were frequently times when a character stood a good chance of getting shot at etc., if they went out, or otherwise just didn't feel safe going to hang out in a pub.Tiamat wrote:No. Not everyone sits at a tavern role playing. That said, yeah, just one tavern, please.

Two. One for each side.

Re: 8
okay it's great your opening tomorrow and all, but that's going to do me little good if my character isn't approved, shouldn't you wait until all the character applications have been sorted before starting the game, it's rather unfair to let some people in first just because they were lucky enough for the staff to get round to reviewing their character applications first.
Re: 8
We went through all the orc submissions before we started. Took the time to make sure everyone was outfitted and even held up on some things to wait for a few stragglers.alexjones wrote:okay it's great your opening tomorrow and all, but that's going to do me little good if my character isn't approved, shouldn't you wait until all the character applications have been sorted before starting the game, it's rather unfair to let some people in first just because they were lucky enough for the staff to get round to reviewing their character applications first.
Human submissions will be gone through in the next 24 hours to give them the same opportunity for entering the game together on Sunday night, as announced by Icarus.
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
