The Festival RPTs

To all involved: Imms who administered it, builders who built stuff and progs, players who played, I had a great time. Thank you for all the work.

I wasn't there for very long, but I have to agree with this. Kudos!

Huge kudos to Rishte for leading this. She's one of our best!!!

Also kudos to the rest of staff who assisted, AND Grommit who helped us with a few code issues.

For the short time I was able to poke around before it closed, I also enjoyed this.

The amount of work that went into it was very apparent and deserves kudos!

Thank you for the festival. I was impressed with the festival crafts and the contests and prizes. I wish I didnt have to miss a good portion of it, but it was great to attend. Look forward to seeing it again next harvest.

Yule would be the next big festival in game, so, ideas about some fun winter time type things could be fun.

Rishte did an amazing job with this, and I'm glad people had a good time. :)

I'd love to see a social RPT like this not just have some fun mini-games and events (which are always great!), but also find ways to tie in some major plot threads with the larger plot in such a way that players can affect the outcome with how their characters react and interact.

Social RPTs are a great engine to push meaningful intrigue!

So I have a few off the wall suggestions for a Yule/winter festival.

Polar Bear Dip in Lake Town (nudge nudge)
- Result of the craft could be a cold.

Craftable snow shoes / skis

Ice Fishing Crafts

Snow Snake (Native American Medicine game)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfn5LE88JPc
- You could make a general craft to carve and polish the snow snake.
- Not a coder so I have no clue how hard this would be but you could base the distance thrown on str/agi/dex

Ice Fishing is definitely a good idea and totes could be done even in Utterby.

Snow Snake appears very interesting. I will have to play with this and see how possible it is with our code.

*the plotting begins*

Dog breeding/fighting!

Or, here are a ton of neat options for mini-games:
Viking Sports, Festival Activies and Board Games

One in particular:
Knattleikr: The Viking "Ball Game"

Any mini-games you make (when appropriate), I'd encourage to be made universal an on-going. Some things might only be appropriate at Festivals, but plenty of things could become common social activities for characters.

I always wanted to see a league of rat/dog/pet fighting. Of course, this was mostly with thought towards play in an orcish sphere.
