Another one that seems to be using the wrong qualities which is the issue. I should have this fixed this week and I'll look at the other oiled crafts just in case.

Fixed all the oiled-leather crafts as well as the hardened-leather-helm. I think I've now gotten all the armoring crafts that give quality rolls.

Condition small-leather-square changes the color of the produced leather squares.
You lay out a small, mottled grey square of leather to check it over for
tears or blemishes.
>
You open up a deep tan half-gallon jar of fish oil and dip the tanned
hide into the oil, ensuring that you cover the entire skin.
>
You let the skin soak for a while.
>
You draw out the soaked skin, spreading it out on a long and wide fleshing
beam to stretch it.
>
You stretch the skin, working to ensure an even pull of the oil-soaked
leather.
>
After a long period of stretching out the oiled skin, you set out a small,
oil-soaked, taupe leather square, letting it soak in the oil to maintain the
conditioning.

I'll have to find out what was supposed to be used in that hash.

As for the small-leather-square, you might have had an old square as 'mottled grey' is incorrect and it should be 'mottled-grey'. Since that does not exist in the leathercolor list it wouldn't transfer it. I tested with 'mottled-grey' and it worked just fine. Please check with other colors and let me know if it still does not work correctly.

You sure about that? :P I've yet to produce anything but novice quality leggings. Just failed again. As you know I've been having problems with the conditioning, too. This is actually the first pair of leggings I've been able to try since the fix.
I've been getting a lot of crappy rolls lately. Anyway will keep working on it as long as the PCs keep bringing me the stuff.

I still say there should be minimum and a maximum of quality levels based on skill. Rather then a random dice roll.

This is an idea that makes a lot of sense to me. If you're familiar skill level you should perhaps be able to get one level up 20% of the time, one level down 20% of the time, and right at the expected level the remaining 60% of the time.

Which leggings craft specifically? As far as the conditioning crafts, please disregard the fact they say 'familiar' that is misleading based on what the craft is looking at. They are actually very high level.

at least a half a dozen novice level oiled leather leggings now I think. Nothing but novice...

Code: Select all
forge shortsword-component
You set out a sturdy metal forge and 4 bundle of firewoods, taking care
to stoke the flames to an appropriate temperature.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
You begin to beat something with something, but you ruin the metal and
stop.

I tried to replicate this several times, but couldn't - could it be that the light somehow went out while you were crafting? If you could send me a pm with the name of the room where this happened (or just file a typo while your PC is standing in the room, easier. The room gets saved in the typo report automagically), that might help track down the culprit. Thanks.

Ceredir, try hiding objects in the room and then running the craft
A really bad sword with a short blade lies here.
look sword
This sword hardly even a sword. It's kind of really just a piece of metal bent like a sword. Its blade is rather short. Kind of pathetic, really.

Assemble wooden-keg consumes two sets of metal bands, rather than one as with all other barrel/vessel crafts. Keg is smaller than the barrel as well.

Although it is stiff, the helmet itself tapers down either side of the head with fixed plates, and a noseguard comes down over the face, protecting the eyes.

^ a hardened, leather helm

It is a hardened leather helm.

It will cover the head.

Turns out this was just a wonky fail message, that I somehow didn't notice, duh. Fixed with next reboot.

Chances are there are more crafts with same issue. File a typo or post here if you find one.

I don't see how that is a broken craft :-P On topic, please!

Wait--oh okay, I see what the problem is.

I built that helmet to cover the eyes and head, but someone took away the coverage to the eyes...for some reason.
I hope you die right now, will you drink my chemical?

breakdown weapon-blade

When I try to use this with a finished or unfinished weapon blade in the room it tells me I'm lacking the items necessary and the component list is showing that it's pretty much any blade we have in game? Can this be looked at or explained to me if I'm misreading! Thanks!

Breakdown-Weaponblade, is an old craft. That has no real use anymore, since the items it affect, have been mostly purged from the game. It was a craft I personally requested, so that old components from the old system could be re-cycled and turned into the new stuff.

It could probably be adjusted to work with components, though.

It would make sense to be updated. Metal is not easy to get and realistically we'd recycle what could be easily used to make more attempts/make more weapons or other needed things.

thanks for the reply Onasaki!

It indeed was, under certain circumstances. A leftover from the color variables going crazy, and an oversight on my part. Sorry about that. Should be fine now, but you might want to keep an eye on hafts and hilts that you're using in case I missed any. 'Golden' and 'amber' wood is the issue. 'Golden brown' and 'amber brown' is fine.

Thanks for spotting this!

You know the following admin crafts:

mine iron-ore

This replaced the craft to start iron ingots, making iron ingots impossible to make now.

Probably should not have access to an admin craft either
