Dear Assorted Canon Fodder,
I am pleased to announce that we have updated the armor table!

Now you might be wondering what this new table looks like, and I'll be pleased to show you! Firstly though, I'd like to discuss our categories of gear.

1 - Heavy and/or Padded Cloth & Similar
2 - Leather
3 - Hardened Leather
4 - Mail
5 - Scale
6 - Plate


Additionally, there are five quality levels.

Trash
Poor
Ordinary
Good
Superior


So, you can have trash cloth, poor cloth, poor leather, trash plate, good hardened leather, etc. All this effects exactly how well a piece of armor performs in a wide variety of circumstances.

Now, in Combat, damage goes against a particular table that defines how well it resists damage in addition to the AC level it has. This is that table:

Negative numbers are better.

We can discuss further in other threads, but that is how armor will work for the Alpha portion of SOI.
