Bugged Cooking Craft

I had the required items. Then the plucked Pheasant and Jar were both consumed and are now gone. Working as intended or bug?

Were you using the general craft one or the butchering one? These both work when I test them on the builder's port. You need more than one carcass, though, it doesn't use the same one. Four are consumed in the general and less in the butchering version because of skill involved.

I believe I was using cooking. I did not know I needed four corpses, but regardless it did purge my bird and jar is that normal?

ALSO!

Harvest barm seems to have purged a fermenting barrel of ale *cough*

It looks like that one was actually bugged. It's been corrected so now on the final use of the use-component it produces a new non-use component that continues to morph as needed.

gut plucked-gamebird either doesn't work for me or doesn't accept ducks despite ducks being on the tag list for gamebird.

Yeah, it's not considering duck as a plucked gamebird. I just now tried it.

Butcher whole-roast boar gave 21 cuts, but after successfully butchering another the total cuts in the room was lowered to 16

You need to store meat before proceeding to Butcher more carcasses. The other workaround (which we tried for a short period if time) to this is to remove stacking which will lead to different nightmares. So Butcher one carcass, put that meat away, and then go on to the next.
