Phase 3: 20 seconds
Held (Reusable): a $metaltype0 sewing awl.
Held or in Room (Partially Consumed): 3 of a spool of thick, waxed, $linetype
twine.
Phase 4: 20 seconds
Phase 5: 20 seconds
Phase 6: 20 seconds
Held or in Room (Consumed): a polished $metaltype buckle.
Produced: a $furcolor0 cloak of $furquality4 $animalleather2 fur.
OOC Delay Timer: 120 RL Minutes

So I gathered all the materials, got a deer pelt, and it didn't recognize the pelt? I used a fresh pelt, not brined, and not tanned. (If the recipe called for a tanned pelt, it would have said tanned in it)

So I'm thinking this recipe is bugged.

Was it a 'tanned' pelt? (not scudded like a skin or raw)
a large, $furcolor pelt = a large pelt which was 'tanned'

I thought a tanned pelt would read 'A large, tanned, $furcolor pelt'

You brine the pelt and then instead of scudding it you tan it.

Tanning = a large, tanning, $furcolor pelt -->
a large $furcolor pelt

Scudding = a large, tanning, $leathercolorcolor skin -->
a large square of $leathercolorcolor leather

One tiny complaint about this cloak. It uses a whole large square, as opposed to the leather-cloak, which uses 4/5, but it has no hood, despite covering the head according to "examine"!

Is this an oversight? Or by design? And if it's by design, will we get a version WITH a hood?

Leather cloaks do have hoods, you just need to wear the cloak about your body.

I think he's saying that the furred cloaks don't have hoods, despite using more leather than the leather cloaks which do have them.

Fur cloaks have hoods. Wear them in the correct location.
That is all.

Ok. I give up. Where is the right spot to wear a cloak if not "about"?

Code: Select all
<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> wear pale about
You wear a thick, pale leather cloak about your body.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> hood
You raise a thick, pale leather cloak's hood, obscuring your face.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> remove cloak
You lower a thick, pale leather cloak's hood, revealing your features.
You stop using a thick, pale leather cloak.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> wear wolf
You are already wearing something there.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> wear wolf about
You wear a slate-grey cloak of bushy wolf fur about your body.

<****** / ^^^^^^ / ||||||>
> hood
You are not wearing a hooded item.

So, I noticed being unable to repair a spangenhelm with a full mending kit and a full armor kit. I wasn't the only person who noticed this :D

Seconded!!

<----> inv
<carried in right hand> a stiff, pale leather coif
<carried in left hand> an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur

<across the back> a pale blue nettlecloth sack
<worn over shoulder> a rough pine longbow
<worn over shoulder> a tan, dog leather satchel
<worn on body> a mottled grey leather gambeson
<worn on hands> a pair of black, boar leather gloves
<worn about waist> a knotted length of nettle rope
<worn on belt> a tan warg leather quiver bearing arrows
<worn on legs> a pair of mottled grey leather leggings
<worn on feet> a dusty, careworn pair of traveling shoes

<----> wear cloak
You wear an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur around your chest.

<----> wear coif
You cannot wear a stiff, pale leather coif, as an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur already covers that spot.

Although this way, it worked...

<----> rem cloak
You stop using an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur.
<----> wear coif
You wear a stiff, pale leather coif on your head.
<----> wear cloak
You wear an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur around your chest.

Happens the same way with leggings, gambeson - at least mine.
Though hood command doesn't work this way.

Also, if you take off the coif while wearing that cloak on the 'overwear' location ( I am unable to wear it 'about' with gambeson on 'body'), you can not wear it back again without removing the cloak

<----> inv
<carried in right hand> an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur
<carried in left hand> a mottled grey leather gambeson

<worn on head> a stiff, pale leather coif
<across the back> a pale blue nettlecloth sack
<worn over shoulder> a rough pine longbow (concealed)
<worn over shoulder> a tan, dog leather satchel (concealed)
<worn on hands> a pair of black, boar leather gloves
<worn about waist> a knotted length of nettle rope
<worn on belt> a tan warg leather quiver bearing arrows
<worn on legs> a pair of mottled grey leather leggings
<worn on feet> a dusty, careworn pair of traveling shoes

<----> wear gamb body
You wear a mottled grey leather gambeson on your body.

<----> wear cloak about
You cannot wear an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur, as a mottled grey
leather gambeson already covers that spot.

<----> wear cloak overwear
You wear an onyx cloak of bushy wolf fur around your chest.

That cloak needs to be swapped out. It'll say it covers 'blah blah' locations where it should only partially cover.

^ Don't know... That cloak was tried by another PC and it did work all fine.
Hence, appears the PC is bugged. :?

If you examine the cloak, you can see what it covers or partially covers. You can still wear them, depending on what you currently have on. I had a fur cloak recently made that had the same problems and needed to be swapped, so I'd bet my copper on Matt being correct here.
