Is this done deliberately so there is more available contact between players of different spheres? Will it eventually be put back in to the game?

Canonically orcs cannot see in the dark with perfect sight.

If we get a code change that lets them see in their current room, I'm all for it, but infravision atm is overpowered.

I think I like this idea. I like the idea of orcs sneaking around in the dark -- being able to do without torches for basic navigation, if not much else.

On a related note - I seem to recall moonlight code going into SOI2 shortly before we stopped playing (or am I mistaken?)

At any rate, I would greatly be in favor of current-room visibility in case of moonlight/clear skies for humans too.

From what I remember, moonlight code was in for years, it was just so rare to come across a moon that provided light everywhere. It was only like a couple of days out of the IC year.
