Tightening things up

Postby Nimrod » Wed Jul 30, 2014 1:28 pm

Orc staff will be tightening up communications with orc players in-game to help you stay in character. We ask that you help us by understanding that not all of your petitions will be answered, specifically frivolous questions or requests.

If you are in need of an admin to animate an npc, feel free to petition your request and make sure you are in position. Do not petition from a dozen rooms away asking if Striza is available. Make the journey to the officer's door, knock and then petition for an animation. Be ready to interact as soon as someone is free to help you and be prepared to repeat anything you may have said that may have been missed by staff. Staff will assume that for animation of npcs behind doors that you have knocked already, so make sure you do that before we show up.

We will do our best to let you know in-game through some sort of echo if your request cannot be granted. i.e. you may see an echo such as 'There is no response from the door.' or a shout from behind it that lets you know the npc is busy. Sometimes a response may take a while. Setting your status message is helpful to remind staff that you have a pending petition as well. (Remember that the status message has a max length of 20 characters).

If an animation is done, please be prepared to complete the interaction quickly. Some roleplay is welcome and encouraged. Please realize that sometimes the admin animating the npc may be multi-tasking, so your patience is appreciated as well. Don't take blunt answers or dismissals personally.

There's no need to petition after the event to thank us, but it is nice to see that we're appreciated once in a while. If you must do this, keep it short and sweet and don't expect an answer back.

Our goal is to cut all ooc communication between staff and players down to zero in the orcish sphere. Most of you have been very good about this so far, and I thank you.

Can you also get me second in command position while you're at it?

Can we get some info about why this post was made to prevent wild rumors and rampant speculation?

At the end of the day, does it really matter?

Personally, I believe it does. The truth is often a lot more pleasant and mundane then people think, doing more damage in the long run when it is kept hidden.

You've seen and responded to a similar post already, re: 'the curtain.' This is just another part of the curtain being drawn over things again.

If you don't want speculation, don't speculate, and don't talk with those that do. Otherwise...the post seems pretty self-explanatory to me.

I know why they posted this.

"Orcs, make your own goddamn animations already, we're sick of animating striza because you want to complain about fleas in your beds."

Essentially they're telling us to be doers and make our own plots already... which we are :D

It's actually because I log on and ask them all how their days have been, then begin a monologue of my activities and thoughts.

Today I ate a fat tastey bug. And theb I scratched my most curious growth. The one with the hair on it. And then I spanked goblin hams.

Well see? We were all doing it. No wonder. The last answer I got from them before they went silent was to whether I should wear the blue shirt or red shirt when I went out that night.

You have to match your shirt to your eyes. Obviously.
