Suggestion: Night vision

Postby Gobbo » Sat Sep 20, 2014 8:46 pm

I was just thinking about how annoying it is to hang out in the wilderness without a light source and not being able to function at all. My suggestion is not the old style night vision that orcs had where they could see at night like it was day.

My suggestion is that after 5-10 minutes of darkness our pc's eyes should adjust to darkness (with an echo) allowing our players to see in the dark within the room they are in without a light source. This night vision should last while moving rooms until a light source is placed in the same room as the pc to ruin the night vision.

Seems like a difficult thing to code maybe? But I doubt anyone would actually not want this.

I prefer the even playing field of, orcs aren't useless in daylight (very playable) and need torches (like everyone else).

That does sound like a fun idea, but I think the time and effort to code that would be huge compared to the end payout.

Varying levels of light is something we've debated before and thought about, and it's a potential for the future - but for right now, use those torches.

Or the lanterns, bog-iron lanterns. They are IG and sleek.

Make them wearable on belts... Whats the worse can you get by wearing a lit lantern, besides..... say, a scorched genitalia!!

Are these a one-and-done deal or is their oil IG we can use to refill with? I've always been curious.

You can scan/see outdoor rooms 'after midnight', 'late at night', and 'before dawn'
