Painting Guidlines

Post by cfelch » Sat Feb 14, 2015 9:46 am

Now I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but there is one aspect of room descriptions that has always bothered me.

Why can't all the little things (nouns) mentioned in the descriptions be looked at, even if there isn't a tangible object for the players to interact with?
(be nice if we could still emote with *them)

Does the coodbase not support the idea of separate roomItems here?
Every point ever made was an argument.

There is code to support this. :D

It likes means that the staffer (or builder) who built and described the room forgot, didn't realize this option existed, or didn't see that detail as important as perhaps others.

The fact is, describing every such item in a room would get very time consuming for the limited amount of staff and time available relative to things more players are likely to utilize and enjoy. As such, these are usually restricted to items wherein looking at them will help to build atmosphere, explore canon, or expand culture.

That said, if there's such an item somewhere you feel needs more attention, feel free to submit some suggestions (or a list of suggestions) via a ticket or typo to staff. Try to keep them within reason, though. ;)
