Well, this isn't pressing, so I can put it on hold until time is less of a factor I suppose?
I hope you die right now, will you drink my chemical?

I say never postpone for something like that. Maybe even do it spontaneous if people happen to be on one time randomly.

Impromptu RPT Tonight

Postby Icarus » Wed Mar 11, 2015 3:22 pm

Things have been quiet. Too quiet. If you log in tonight around 9pm there will be a brief combat RPT.
[Petition: Player] I am ready to begin my interdimensional adventure.

A mutilated little orc murmurs, nodding as he mutters,
"I fought good today. Yuh. Fought good, 'specially for bein' the kitchen-snaga. Yuh, I did."

9pm in what timezone? Also, thanks for holding this RPT, things have definitely been pretty dead lately, and I haven't had the time to really get much happening

This sword hardly even a sword. It's kind of really just a piece of metal bent like a sword. Its blade is rather short. Kind of pathetic, really.

Thank you all for coming out, you are surprisingly hard to kill. I was worried one or two would put up a challenge, but you ripped through them.

Next time, though. Next time I need to figure out how to kill you all.

we all had a good time. Thanks for giving the orc sphere some love :).
I imagine it's definitely hard to get a good balance for difficulty between fluffy bunnies, and the 4 troll-spider squads that can KO an orc in 1 combat round. If npcs are set up in the same way as PCs, familiar combat skills and good in all stats would probably make them be able to stand up to players well enough, with gear being the main thing that gives players the edge and lets them feel like heroes

I like how he downplays the orc-sphere combat capabilities...

Though I wasn't here, didn't notice this announcement until well past it was over, I'd likely say that anything less than talented/adept as far as raw skills is likely to be all but laughed at compared to the coordination and general capability of the orc-sphere pcs. Do not be afraid to bump an npc up enough to actually wound someone and force a retreat. They don't always have to get to the bottom of the rabbit hole and win the treasure.

yeah, adroit skilled enemies would likely be manageable and fun if there are equal numbers, or they outnumber pcs 1.5:1
I found that I was actually able to see everyone's emotes during this combat RPT, due to there being smaller groups fighting one by one. In mob combats with 20+ enemies a lot of things get thrown to the wayside because focus on the code is needed to keep track of what's going on. So small groups of skilled enemies might really be the way to go.

Life? What's that? Is it a food?

I too am all for livening things up.
I have two forces by my side
One's the truth and one's a lie
Which one's which I cannot tell
This enigma is my hell

I missed it too, but you must have missed more than one if you think the orcs always get to the bottom and get their treasure. I remember several forced retreats.

Thank you guys for your patience on this one, we had some technical difficulties staff side that prevented some elements from moving forward as we had wanted. These technical problems should be resolved ASAP, but still, wanted to thank you for your patience.
