If there are any staff about, this might be caused by my character. I tried to log in 3 times, crashed each time without even able to see it. I had an issue with clothes only last night, about unused objects etc.

same here! I seem to be able to linger in the lounge area for a while (perhaps until someone tries to get IG?)

As my IMM avatar is also crashing the game... I can't help any of you until we get Nim on.

Think we got our answer! GL is open sometimes folks, but any attempt IG is.... suicide.

Heh. And just about everybody IG has at least one thing on them that's fabric. Party in the guest lounge! who's providing the food and drink?

You can log into the GL, but not the game. Please everyone, stop trying to get IG and join in the GL if you want to talk to people. Anytime someone tries to go IG they crash the game and everyone in the GL has to reconnect.

I applied a quick, very sloppy fix. Proceed with caution.
I don't always test my code.
But when I do I do it on the player port.

Fingers crossed, it looks like we've pinpointed the exact issue and hopefully the crash beast has been slain for good.

Worst time ever. Crashes always seem to happen in live or death situations.

I did it! I was doing a bunch of testing and overloaded them with support tickets, so they shut it down in frustration! :P Kidding.

This crash's got my heart-rate down, and my worry rating up.

When we /do/ get things back up and running, one will find that certain underground creatures are a touch bit scarier. Humans might encounter them at certain places too.

Ladies and Gents,

Let's take a quick pause from our rushing into the game, to wanting to gank, twink, craft, pillage... oh, and RP, that as well. ;) Since that is all why we come together to SoI.

I want to thank Staff for their excellent work on maintaining this MUD as well as dealing with us. We certainly aren't an easy lot to please, being my own opinion. Thank you for putting up with us and fixing the crash. I know its Easter and some are probably taking time away from families to deal with this issue, so I really want to thank you.

Keep on keepin' on, Staff. You're a good lot and we are lucky to have you.

:nom: :nom:

Now, Icarus... I still need that address. Tomorrow I could get that 5 lb chocolate bunny half-price. All about them candy sales. ;)

We also freed up some disc space, so the lag should be fixed.

:l

This lag spike is going to be the literal death of me.
Everything gets smaller now the further that I go
Towards the mouth and the reunion of the known and the unknown
Consider yourself lucky if you think of it as home
You can move mountains with your misery if you don't
