Okay, here's the issue I don't think people are aware of-- how does that work? It had to be done with crafts before.

Just type skin corpse, butcher corpse. As for cooking, I'm not quite sure. But it works just like it did in PRPI and ARPI.

Thank you, that resolves a bottleneck I thought the butchery craft was needed for. There wasn't an actual butcher command with the skill elsewhere.

The Butchery skill will later be utilized in crafts to produce less generic cuts of meat from various critters. :D

Erk, it might be prudent to remove the nettlecloth sack from the basic-torches craft for the time being. I ate a whole sack of hunting goods using it, even with something else meant to be targeted on the ground. You might be restoring a lot of lost items with these bags as main containers if it stays in the craft or ones like it.

Also just to ping off previous answers by staff:

- Yes, some craftsets currently don't have crafts, we are working on them though. :D

- If you'd like to help with the process PM Tiamat or Taurgalas for advice on getting your suggestion in a workable form. If you have a more official interest in helping to craft - please send Elder Staff a PM of application with explanation of your interest and previous experience with our code and crafting system.

- I'll peek at some of the other craft issues mentioned. Using the Ticket system is the best way to go about getting specific crafts peeked at, with the forums more for general discussion.

- Given player feedback from Orcs and Humans, I'll be removing the glove requirement for crafts. Olthadir did explain the original reasoning though. :D

I don't think those sacks are supposed to be used for main storage. It's just a sack given to you to hold your kit. It shouldn't be important, or removed from basic torches.

That's my opinion anyway.

It's what everyone is using instead of backpacks or satchels at the moment.

We're all using those sacks, hence the hazard and potential for more admin work on accidental poofs. The removal could just be temp, really, but now it's dangerous in Sacktown.

Here's a question regarding crafts. I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere; I didn't have much time to dig around before work.

Leather laces: is there a crafting recipe for this? I started out at novice and can make leather strips. Can't make laces though, which keeps me from being able to make lots of stuff (I'm still kicking myself for forgetting to buy some at chargen).

Leather laces are in fact currently craftable. What I have seen is anyway to acquire the wax spools of twine, but I'm sure on will come up.

Save your leather, no brining or soaking pits yet to tan more.

Those are IG in Vadok Mal.

I just loaded them in Utterby. Expect them to be linked ASAP.

Utterby also seems to lack a forge, and the Lodge's workbench is the wrong kind. Needs 'a broad workbench' instead of 'a $woodtype woodworking bench' or possibly both. All the opening wood-related craft use the former, at least.

So, after brining a pelt do we wait on a timer to set it to brined instead of brining or are we supposed to do something?

It will morph - most of the tanning crafts require some wait for the morphing to occur. Since tanning pelts takes a significant amount of time, it was a choice between setting long ooc delay timers or morphs. Morphs seemed more practical.

Seems to be a pretty long timer. I lost track but I think it's been close to an hour. Might be a bit difficult for people who can't wait around that long to make sure no one steals their hides.

Huh... I thought Novice was better than Amateur; I'm not too sure what the scale is for describing skill levels. I guess I didn't start out at a high enough skill level to be able to make leather lace.

I think the scale is: Beginner, Novice, Amateur, Familiar, Talented, Adroit, Master.

Ah that would explain it! Thanks for clearing things up for me. Looks like I can try putting my skills to use cutting up some straps in order to get some practice.

Doubt it'll get me to amateur, though. Not anytime soon.
